My journey to my own sweet escape

Ms.Diamond’s Sweet Escape is a Black woman–owned, NOLA-native home-baked brand rooted in love, nostalgia, and Creole tradition.

The name “Miss Diamond” found me long before the business did—given to me by an elementary school teacher who loved Prince’s Diamonds & Pearls. It followed me through every city I’ve lived in, becoming a part of my identity.

I started baking in the summer of 2014 in Chicago with a cousin, simply wanting something sweet at home for us. What began as a small kitchen moment quickly grew into my escape—my calm, my creativity, and my grounding. Eventually, I put down my whisk and picked up a MacBook and a planner to pursue a career as an entrepreneur and event producer.

After moving to New York in 2024, the hustle of the city pushed me to reconnect with myself and rediscover my rhythm in the kitchen. I began sharing slices with friends, and one day someone ordered a whole cake—and ice cream (coming soon). That single request became the spark that grew into this sweet little brand celebrating its first year.

Today, every cake I bake carries a story. A memory. A feeling. A touch of home.

How long do the cakes last?

1-3 room temp. 5–7 days refrigerated. Up to 3 months frozen.

Can I add liquor?

Yes! Baileys, Rum, or Bourbon can be added to most flavors for an additional charge.

Are your cakes nut-free?

Classic Almond contains almond extract.

What if my package is delayed?

Once shipped, delays caused by carriers are outside of our control. We do not offer refunds, but we will help track your package.

Refund Policy

Due to the nature of perishable goods, all sales are final. No refunds, cancellations, or exchanges once baking begins.

Packaging

Every cake is:

✔ sealed for freshness

✔ placed in a protective cake container

✔ wrapped with shock-absorbing padding

✔ boxed in a sturdy shipping carton

✔ labeled “Fragile / Perishable”

✔During warm-weather travel routes, cakes may ship frozen to maintain shape and freshness. They thaw perfectly at room temp.
